Les Orres, in France's southern Alps, is hosting its annual Festival en Blanc for the third straight year. This event gives visitors four months of nearly uninterrupted shows, concerts, and more from now until April.
Kids' shows are designed specifically for them such as Carnival Day, magic shows, and a nickelodeon parade. Older skiers will enjoy more grown-up spectacles like the Rossignol Demo Tour, a Big Air acrobatic ski demonstration, or a space-themed pyrotechnic show.
The programme also includes concerts by a selection of popular French musicians. This year's programme includes Sheryfa Luna (French R n' B), Camelia Jordana (lyrical pop), and Michael Jones (Celtic blues-rock) so that concert-goers can discover a variety of styles.
Figure skating shows and DJ-on-ice nights liven up the Les Orres ice rink. Spectators will be treated to the artistic talents of 18 professional skaters from the Glissando skating troupe. Younger skaters can have fun on the ice, thanks to DJ mixes and colourful lighting.
Activities are either free or priced around €3 for the children. Admission to figure skating shows costs €10 per person and entrance to the DJ-on-ice nights costs €6 per person (ice skate hire included). Tickets for the bigger-name concerts, however, are on sale for €15. Dates for all activities varies, but a weekly programme is available at the Les Orres tourism office.
