Looking for a way to reduce your impact on the environment while at the same time get to the slopes to ski or ride? Then, catch a bus to Willamette Pass Resort instead of driving a personal vehicle.
The Willamette Pass Express operates every day the resort is open. It departs from three locations in the Eugene area and gets to the resort for a full day of skiing or riding, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bus also offers a way to let someone else drive the 70 miles from town to the resort and chain up when road conditions get nasty.
The bus loads daily at 7:15 a.m. from Dick's Sporting Goods at Delta Oaks Shopping Center in Eugene. It stops for pick-ups at Pleasant Hill Middle School in Pleasant Hill, and Ray's Shopping Center in Oakridge. The bus returns to Dick's Sporting Goods by 5:45 p.m.
The Willamette Pass Express costs $15 round trip. Season passholders can ride for $10. Reservations must be made online.
The ski area operates lifts and the bus daily through Jan. 2 and then Thursdays through Sundays plus holidays January through March. Daily operations resume for spring break in March.
The bus accommodates day skiers only. Night skiers and riders must drive themselves. Night skiing is available Fridays and Saturdays through March.
