Former U.S. ski champs Phil and Steve Mahre have spent the last 25 years passing along secrets to strong, fast skiing through their training camps and center.
Now the Mahre Training Centers has settled in at Deer Valley Resort for the past six seasons, offering three- and five-day intensive sessions to recreation and competitive skiers alike.
The next three-day session runs Jan. 7-9 at the resort in Park City, Utah, with final session Feb. 11-13. Five days of instruction can be had Jan. 10-14. Three days of training costs $745, while the five-day session goes for $1,130. Each price includes lift tickets, six hours of instruction a day by Deer Valley ski school members, video and analysis, evening discussions, awards and participation by either Phil or Steve Mahre.
Participants get to in on special training techniques that were developed by former U.S. Team Coach Harold Shoenhaar and employed by both Mahre brothers in their successful World Cup and Olympic ski racing careers.
Each session begins with breakfast at the Snow Park Lodge, where groups will be formed and questions answered.
This season, Deer Valley Resort celebrates its 30th year of operations on the four mountains above the town of Park City.
