China Peak Inn received such a facelift that frequent visitors may not even recognize the hotel. The inn, which had its official grand opening Dec. 17 after its renovation, is offering a stay and ski free package on select dates this winter.

The renovations put in new floors, carpets, ceiling treatments, lighting, music, furniture, beds, linens, and showerheads. A new paint scheme colored the walls in its 48 guest rooms, lobby, restaurant, and bar. Some rooms were converted to kings.

The décor changed to a retro black and white look to celebrate the history of China Peak. Historical photos from the 1950s and 60s at the resort comprise the artwork. Photos of Sugar Bowl, Mammoth Mountain, and Sun Valley tie skiing at China Peak into some of the bigger resorts in the West.

Returnees also will find a new dinner menu and wine list. The inn plans to host special wine pairing dinners during the season.

Regular rates run $99-259 per night for rooms and suites. A family suite costs $499, which includes a $100 food and beverage voucher. Rates increase to $199-279 per night for holiday stays with the family suite available at $559.

The inn's Stay And Ski Free package includes free lift tickets with lodging. The package is available Sundays through Thursdays Jan. 3 - March 31 with the exception of Jan. 16 and Feb. 20. It switches to nightly availability April 1-30. The number of free lift tickets included varies by room type.
