Liberty Mountain in Carroll Valley, Pa., is offering learn to ski or snowboard specials through Dec. 23.

Guests ages 8 and older who want to learn a sliding sport can take Beginner Learn to Ski or Snowboard Packages for $39.

This First Class Beginner package includes a beginner area lift ticket, rental equipment, and a class lesson. The package will teach newcomers the skills they need to get out on the slopes.

Those with previous slope experience can take a class lesson. These lessons are for skies and rides ages 8 and up, of all ability levels. Cost for the group lesson is $10.

Liberty Mountain operates seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. midweek and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends throughout the winter season.

Liberty's first event of the season, Winter Solstice, will be held Dec. 18 and 19, with fun activities for the whole family.

Liberty Mountain Resort has 16 trails and a snow tubing park on 91 skiable acres, 620-foot vertical, served by eight lifts that include five quads, two carpets and a t-bar and one double chairlifts, two Magic Moving Carpet lifts and a terrain park J-bar, night skiing seven nights a week, and full snowmaking coverage.

Liberty's new automated snow guns cover 65 percent of its terrain with computerized snowmaking. These guns are more efficient, can operate in marginal temperatures, and use less energy, making Liberty whiter and greener at the same time.
