The southern Oregon resort has signed a contract to purchase 780,000 kilowatt hours annually for the next three years from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation in Portland, which supports the development of wind, solar, and other renewable energy sources. The purchase will make Mt. Ashland the first ski resort in the Pacific Northwest to be 100 percent offset with renewable energy. The resort also will provide each guest the opportunity to invest in the Green Chair Renewable Energy program by purchasing a $20 Green Chair season pass upgrade or a $1 lift ticket upgrade, identifying the guest as a Green Chair Renewable Energy supporter.
