The Wasatch Mountains have been blessed with plenty of early season snow this year, and Snowbird Ski Resort has put out a deal that may be hard to resist.

Any pair of skiers and snowboarders who wants to pound the powder on The Cirque or try for a dozen tram rides can do so starting at $99 per person (plus taxes and fees) at Snowbird, if they stay for at least three nights at the resort's lodging and take advantage of the package before Dec. 25. The total price for double occupancy comes to about $235 per night, according to central reservations.

Lodging may be at the Lodge at Snowbird, Cliff Lodge and Spa, Iron Blosam Lodge, The Inn at Snowbird or Cliff Club Condominiums, depending upon availability, according to central reservations at Snowbird. Location of lodging will vary according to the date and length of stay. Additional days and tickets can be purchased for the special price, prior to Christmas Day.

The deal, called Snowbird Early Bird Stay and Ski Package, includes a three-day tram and chairlift pass for each adult. Children 12 and under ski or ride free for every day that a family books a room.  A multi-day adult lift ticket normally costs $65 a day.

Snowbird boasts nearly 900 rooms, all at the base of the 11,000-foot Hidden Peak that has more than 3,200 feet in vertical drop. An aerial tramway and 10 chairlifts serve the trails, slopes and bowls on the mountain up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
