Mt. Norquay revs up its tubing park for the season this Saturday. The resort offers families the only tubing hill and the only night skiing in the Banff area.

Norquay expanded its tubing park even more this year. It features a rope tow for getting hauled uphill and seven large lanes for sliding down. A new kids zone will have mini-slides for tots plus a merry-go-round. The resort also renovated the deck on the tubing park lodge this year and is adding fire pits for roasting s'mores.

The tubing hill commences operation for the season Dec. 18. Its regular schedule runs Thursdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Night tubing starts in January. It runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. is available Wednesdays, Jan. 26-March 23, and Fridays, Jan. 7-March 26.

A two-hour family pass for two adults and two children costs $58 CAN. Additional children can be added on for $12 CAN. Individual rates are available for adults, youth, and children for $15-20 CAN for two hours. Full day rates are available for $2-4 more.

Norquay is also the only ski resort in the Banff area that offers night skiing. It runs lifts 5 to 10 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays. Sundance and Cascade lifts operate as well as the terrain park and tubing hill. Night skiing tickets cost $10-20 CAN. Night skiing begins Jan. 7 for Fridays and Jan. 26 for Wednesdays.
