Horseshoe Resort, popular winter sports destination an hour north of Toronto near Barrie, has lift and lodging packages good through the holidays and will be hosting special dinners in their award winning restaurants.
Check out the resorts Discover Fun Package, which starts from $249 CA (US $244.75) based on double occupancy, if you are new to winter sports or need to brush up on your skills. It includes a night's lodging, breakfast for two, two lift tickets, one-hour lesson, and rental equipment.
The Ski and Stay Package, which starts from $169 CA (US $166.13) based on double occupancy, includes lodging, breakfast for two, and two alpine lift tickets.
Both offers are good through March 31, 2011, in limited quantity per night. Resort guests have access to the resort's indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, fitness facilities and squash court.
Special dinners are taking place in the resort's upscale Silks Restaurant on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and Day. The cost for the Christmas Day Buffet is $36 CA (US $35.39) for adults and $15 CA (US $14.74) for children (5-12). The romantic dinner is $65 CA (US $63.89) per person, and the New Year's Day family buffet is $59 CA (US $57.99) for adults and $29 CA (US $28.51) for children.
The resort offers 25 runs, six lifts, a new terrain park that doubled in size last winter and a competition superpipe with 17-foot walls, the Thunder Valley Tubing Park with a magic carpet lift, and 35 kilometers of groomed cross-country holes. It typically has one of the longest snow sports seasons in southern Ontario, and is open daily and nightly all season long.
