The Burton Learn To Ride Center puts never-ever snowboarders (15 years old and up) on base-high rental boards that make it easier to learn because there's less chance of catching an edge and slamming the ground with your face. The Canyons' instructors are trained by Burton LTR pros so that they know how to utilize the gear for the best lesson possible.
This is the third resort in Utah (Brighton and Park City Mountain Resort are the other two) to hook-up with Burton. It's an effective and gentle start to a whole new sport. I've tried it myself and you definitely feel like a hero after your first lesson.
If you are confused about which resort to try out the LTR program, Brighton overall is the best Utah resort for boarding, but the strictly beginner terrain off PCMR's First Time Chairlift makes a winning combo. We'll have to wait and see where The Canyons chooses to run their never-evers' classes this season with the new program.
