Pajarito Piping Water?

After not opening at all last year and currently 80 percent open with a 49-inch snow base, Pajarito has seen more inconsistent snow in the last decade. "If we don't do anything, we could be out of business in a matter of years," said club president George Lawrence. "We're the only ski area in the region without snowmaking." But installing guns and pipes on the hill is only one part of the equation, for ready water is not available. Instead, the ski hill will need to use either a stream or treated wastewater - both acquired via a several-mile-long pipeline to transport water to the hill.
