This is the second year that Win Smith, president of Sugarbush Resort, has provided free Sugarbush season passes to spouses and children of Vermont National Guardsmen deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"We recognize the sacrifices these families continue to make on behalf of our country. We hope that a free season pass to Sugarbush will bring some joy and laughter into their lives. There's nothing like getting outside on a winter day, snapping on your skis, and taking a few runs. It's guaranteed to make you smile," Smith said.
This is the second season that Sugarbush has extended its offer to Vermont National Guardsmen and women. Several other ski resorts have recently followed suit, extending similar benefits to serving families.
"I'm very pleased to see other resorts following our lead on this. It's a great show of support from the industry," Smith added.
The passes will be valid for the 2010-11 winter season and will provide access to Sugarbush's Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen.
Sugarbush has 111 trails encompassing 508 acres, served by 16 lifts including five high-speed lifts, a vertical drop of 2,600 feet off a summit elevation of 4,083 feet.
