The future champions of snowboarding and freeskiing may well be on display Feb. 13-14, 2011 as Snowbasin hosts the finals of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour.
Fans will get a chance to see the best young snowboarders and skiers kick a Backside 720 or nail a Double Cork either in the superpipe or during the slopestyle competitions at the Wasatch mountain resort.
The Snowbasin event marks the culmination of a 54-stop nationwide tour for competitors 21 years old or younger. The skiers and riders not only vie for points on the tour but also can jump up to the professional Dew Tour if their results warrant. Male and female competitors will separately get it on skis and snowboards in slopestyle and superpipe events. Freeski events pit both genders on the same course.
Snowbasin will host the professional Winter Dew Tour Challenge the following weekend, Feb. 10-13.
The tour heads up to Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton Resort Feb. 5-6 for the only other tour stop in the mountain Southwest.
The weekend includes a Junior Jam for youngsters 13 and under who want to get experience in a competitive setting in rail jam and superpipe.
