Blackjack Resort, now in its second season of new ownership, has been busy making improvements and will be offering three-for-two lift tickets from opening day through Dec. 24.
More glades skiing and riding will be available this season, and the resort has added its first double-black-diamond slope called The Wall. Terrain park features have been improved. Just Cuz, the resort's training park, will have more small features for those new to the sport. The Lower Park will have larger rails, boxes and jibs, and a rope tow for quick access. The Broad Ax Terrain Park will be all new with more jump lines and more medium to large features.
Buy two lift tickets and receive a third lift ticket free from opening day, Dec. 11, through Dec. 24, Blackjack is offering a $50 Family Lift Ticket, good for all members of the immediate family Christmas Day. Individual lift tickets will be $25 that day.
Midweek Madness kicks in after Jan. 1 when you can buy a weekly pass for $75, which is good Monday through Friday. The offer is good all season long.
Blackjack offers a 465-foot vertical, 19 trails and slopes, three terrain parks, four chairlifts, and two surface tows.
The resort was purchased last season by an Oshkosh, Wisc., investor with close ties to the area. It is managed by Rick Schmitz, owner and operator of Nordic Mountain Ski Area in Central Wisconsin.
