Looking for a way to ski or ride British Columbia? Tourism British Columbia is pulling out the stops again for another big sweepstakes for a five-day ski or snowboard trip to one of 13 resorts in the province.
Tourism British Columbia has introduced its BC Ski Games Contest. One winner can bring seven friends to a BC resort for five days. Four nights of lodging, three days of lift tickets, round-trip airfare, round-trip ground transportation to the resort, two dinners for the group, and rental gear are included in the prize. The prize value is estimated at $25,000 CAN.
The resort will host a one-day BC Ski Games competition with Olympic gold medalists Ashleigh McIvor and Maëlle Ricker providing coaching. The competition includes a ski and snowboard race, a winter sport competition such as snowmobiling, hockey, or dog sledding, and an après ski event, which may involve a hot tub. Specific activities for each competition vary with each resort.
The winner may choose the destination resort from among 13 possibilities. The resorts include Mount Washington Resort Alpine Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Red Mountain Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort, Whitewater Ski Resort, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Fernie Alpine Resort, Apex Mountain Resort, Panorama Mountain Village, Silver Star Mountain Resort, Sun Peaks Resort, Big White Ski Resort, and Whistler Blackcomb.
The sweepstakes contest, which began Nov. 15, is open to residents of U.S. states, District of Columbia, or Canada. All contestants must be entered via an online form by Feb. 27. Entries are limited to one per person and per e-mail address. The prize travel must be completed by April 30, 2011. Those entering the contest should read all the fine print on eligibility, requirements for the winner, and variations on the packages offered by each resort.
