The behemoth resort full of six-pack chairlifts yanked their original gondola in 1997 after they decided it was so last century (and it was incredibly slow).
"We had gondola plans about two years ago that would connect a new base development to the summit," said PCMR's Paula Fabel. "Since the development plan was halted, so was the gondola. It really is non-news."
A better idea is a high-speed Town Lift. Currently, the chair that takes riders from Main Street to the mountain is agonizingly slow. However, the Town Lift runs are some of the best long blue cruisers on the mountain with awesome views of Old Town. Rumor has it that the developers of the Town Lift properties plan to upgrade the chairlift within the next few seasons.
