Méribel is offering off-piste ski lessons with certified French ski school instructors to make the sport more accessible to everyone this winter.
Participants should already have mastered downhill skiing. It is a good idea to feel comfortable skiing in various snow conditions and over as much varied terrain as possible.
Beginners to off-piste skiing will appreciate the lessons on using seal skins to trek up the mountains while more experienced skiers can learn how to get the most out of powder and spring-snow outings.
Instructors will lead groups safely into the untouched areas of the 3 Vallees ski area where they can devour the sharp slopes or simply enjoy the tranquillity of the undeveloped mountain.
Two options are on offer: expert skiers can choose a day of off-piste lessons for €91.50; beginners should opt for the four-hour initiation session, which costs €61. Groups meet at 9:15 a.m. at Chaudanne-Mottaret.
Ski instructors and mountain guides specialising in off-piste adventures are also posted at the Méribel tourism office and at Mottaret. They are available every evening to give guests information on the programmes and answer any questions skiers may have about the experience.
Bookings can be made through the Web site of Méribel's French Ski School (ESF) or by calling +33(0)479.086.031
