The lap of luxury in Park City, Utah, and Canyons Resort has become more roomy with the Nov. 23 opening of the Hyatt Escala Lodge at Park City.
Visitors to the new condominium hotel not only get the high-end amenities typical at Hyatt properties, but they also can strap on their skis or snowboards at the lodge and push off onto the trails and slopes at Canyons Resort. The new hotel sits at the base of the Sunrise chairlift.
The European-lodge style facility includes 85 condominiums that divide up into 178 suites, ranging in size of 680 square-foot, one-bedroom units and 2,810 square-foot, four-bedroom residences. Each suite includes a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, fireplaces, and dozens of high-end amenities.
Rooms begin at $249, which also includes access to a fitness center, steam room, heated swimming pools. Hyatt officials have said they will soon be opening a restaurant and bar, and convenience market, as well as expanded indoor and outdoor event and meeting space.
Hyatt joins the Grand Summit Resort and the Westgate Resort in the Escala area of Canyons Resort village. The condominiums will be marketed to individual buyers, according to the hotel's Web site, who will be able rent them if they wish. Condo owners who enter the rental program can join the Hyatt Vacation Club, a vacation ownership timeshare program at 15 Hyatt Vacation and Residence Clubs or at properties within Interval International.
