Villars-Gryon Introduces Mountain Pass For Non-Skiers

Villars-Gryon has launched the Liberty Pass offering unlimted access to travel and activities on the mountain for non-skiers.

A day's pass is priced at CHF25 for adults and CHF12 for children (aged 6-15); a five-day consecutive pass costs CHF90 adults, CHF40 children; and a season's pass is CHF300 adults, CHF190 children.

The Liberty Pass includes free travel on trains Villars-Bretaye and Villars-Barboleusaz; on buses between Villars and Huemoz; and on gondola lifts Roc d'Orsay and Les Chaux. The one- and five-day passes include free entrance to the swimming pool, the ice rink, and fitness centre. Bowling enthusiasts will also benefit from one free game for every game paid for.

The pass is valid from Dec. 18 to April 25 and are available at the tourist office and train station.

Villars-Gryon offers a number of non-skiiing activities including a two-kilometre sledge run from Col de Soud to Villars; ice skating at the indoor rink in Villars and at the outdoor rink in Gryon; and a sports centre with swimming pool, tennis, squash, gym, and bowling alley. Each week, winter animations take place - one of the highlights is the Villars Night Show.

There are also a choice of spas, including the five-star Wellness & SPA Hotel du Golf,  the Chalet RoyAlp Hotel & Spa, and Les Bains de Lavey.
