The new four-star spa-hotel 'Tauern Spa World' has opened in Kaprun.
After a two-year construction project at a cost of €83 million, the spa hotel opened Nov. 8 in time for winter guests. There are 320 beds as well as a vast restaurant and bar area, but the main attraction is the 48,000-square-metre spa.
The spa's huge wellness area features panoramic saunas, a brine pool, a glazed exterior pool, and an aroma steam bath. The official opening ceremony will be held Dec. 2.
Tauern Spa World is offering a range of short package deals for winter visitors, all of which include free use of the spa facilities: the two-night Explore package is priced at €228 and is valid until Dec. 18; the three-night Skicamp package is priced at €461 and includes a two-day ski pass for the glacier, valid until Dec. 18; the three-night Christmas Rose package is for guests wanting to spend a relaxing Christmas at the hotel including meals, valid for arrival Dec. 22 or 23.
Zell am See-Kaprun is also due to kick off the season Nov. 27. Impatient skiers who can't wait until the end of the month can hit the open slopes of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier (3000 metres).
