Vail is offering a great way to get to know the massive mountain while on your vacation, or regular ski day. The Adventure Sessions match you with a top guide and a small group of similarly skilled skiers and riders. You'll get to cut the lift lines just like in a lesson. You'll find the hidden stashes that the locals know and love, that you might not have known about before. You'll also get a few technical tips along the way.
Liz Biebl with Vail says, "The idea is that you get a small group of likeminded individuals and a guide who can help make the most of the day across Vail's 5,289 acres of skiable terrain. The guide will also get the group to the head of the line and can provide instructional tips in a less formal setting."
The Adventure Sessions start Dec. 18 and run daily from 9:15 to 3 p.m. No beginners. This deal is good for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders only. Sign up through the Vail Village Ski & Snowboard School. All sessions leave from Mountain Plaza in Vail Village. The cost last year was $129 a day. No word yet on whether those prices will stay for this season.
Kids at Vail have a fun option, too, with the Ultimate Four. It's a premium group lesson program for kids 3 years old up to teenagers. It's good for four children per instructor. A professional leads them around the mountain to explore all of those fun areas that the kids love. They can hit the jumps and ski the trees as much as they'd like. It's a great option if you're traveling with cousins or family friends as the kids can hang together. The cost last season was $235 for the lesson only or $255 for the lesson and a lift ticket. Guests are encouraged to book in advance.
The Adventure Sessions and Ultimate Four also are available at Beaver Creek.
