Arosa's Gay Ski Week will take place Jan. 8-15. and is the largest gay and lesbian event in Switzerland.
2011 will mark the seventh year of the event. The week is full of activities: indoor and outdoor sports, socialising, cocktail parties, dancing, gourmet dining, and lounging in the sun.
You don't have to be a skier to attend, there are many non-skiers, apres-skiers, party animals, and sun-worshippers. Highlights for this year include a gourmet dinner at the Tschuggen Grand Hotel, a champagne dinner at the Seehof, a horse-drawn sleigh ride with champagne, and the Drag Ski Race.
There are also numerous foam parties, the Secret Poule Party, and nightly discos with world-class DJs and go-go dancers.
Arosa has six gay-friendly partner hotels (three to five stars) offering various packages: Hotel Eden, Tschuggen Grand Hotel, Hotel Vetter, Posthotel Arosa, Hotel Asora, and Dorothea's Bed & Breakfast (exclusively for women).
The Eventpass Gold is included in all the hotel packages and gives access to all events as well as other advantages, like a 20-percent discount on ski and snowboard rental and a 10-percent discount in various Arosa businesses.
It is also possible to rent a holiday apartment: Hof Arosa, Haus Bristol, Haus Ochsnbuel; and Casa Allegra.
