Arosa has introduced the seven-night Climate Neutral Winter Holiday Package for CHF940 (£591) per person.
The environmentally conscious package includes seven nights' accommodation in a double room with breakfast, a week's ski pass, and use of a free bus. It is available at the beginning and end of the season: Dec. 2-25 and April 4-25.
What makes this ski holiday greener than most, is that the Arosa Tourist Office promises to offset the carbon emissions of each guest for free. This package is just one of five carbon-neutral winter packages in Arosa (carbon-neutral winter hiking holidays are also available).
Getting by in Arosa without a car is not too difficult either with the Arosa Railway Station and a free ski bus. International express trains run to Chur, and from here it's 60 minutes to Arosa on the local RhB train.
The traditional resort of Arosa is open Nov. 28 to April 18. It enjoys a long snow-sure season and plenty of sunshine thanks to its position at 1800 metres.
The resort features 70 kilometres of pistes set between 1800 and 2650 metres with a maximum vertical of 910 metres. There are also 25 kilometres of cross-country ski trails.
