Wintergreen Resort has added 40 high efficiency Rubis Guns to its snowmaking arsenal, which now comprises 400 guns and 45 weather stations for full coverage of its 26 slopes and trails.

Fourteen of those slopes and trails are lighted for night skiing and riding.

Wintergreen is coming off a great snow winter last season but, like most ski resorts in North America, has snowmaking as the heart of its winter operations.

The resort has added some amenities, and spruced up existing ones.

Wintergreen has a new conveyor lift in the Snowsports Learning Area.

The resort offers Virginia's largest tubing park, two terrain parks, and a Family Fun Park.

Wintergreen has a new ice skating rink, set to open Dec. 18.

The area has five chairlifts, including two high-speed detachable six-packs, and three surface lifts.

Wintergreen has a 5th and 6th Grade Snow License Program which gives three free lift tickets fo all Virginia, North Carolina, D.C., Maryland, and West Virginia students.

The resort offers Women's Ski and Ride Clinics, taught by women, for women, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on four consecutive Fridays, Jan. 21 and 28, and Feb. 4 and 11.

A Grand Finale Women's Weekend is set for Feb. 18-19, with Head professional Alison Gannett.
