The Guardian and Observer Travel Awards 2010 named Swiss International Air Lines "Best Short-Haul Airline" for the second year in a row.

SWISS recently annouced it will be adding further capacity to selected routes in its 2010-11 winter schedules.The airline flies from London to Geneva six times a day. Geneva is the ideal gateway to ski resorts in Swiss, French, and Italian Alps. Switzerland's ski resorts of Verbier, Gstaad, Leysin, and Crans Montana among many others close to Geneva. Chamonix, Megeve, Courchevel, and Val d'Isere in the French Alps, and Courmayeur in the Italian Alps are also with easy reach and served by train, bus, or coach.

SWISSis the only direct carrier from the UK to Switzerland to transport the first set of skis/snowboards and boots free of charge. Customers also have the option of flying out of London Heathrow and flying back to London City in one ticket or vice versa.

Ealier this year, SWISSstarted a new flight from Zurich to San Francisco - the gateway to the large Californian ski areas of Lake Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain.

The travel awards named Eurostar third in "Best Train Company" category. Following a winter of discontent in which trains broke down in the Channel tunnel due to the cold weather, Eurostar slipped down from its first-place position last year.
