Resorts in this article: Gore Mountain

New York's Gore Mountain, one of the Winter Olympics twins, says goodbye to the old gondola station and hello to a new learning center, designed after one of the Adirondack Great Camps. The learning center shifts over from the main lodge and brings along the ski school, rental shop and daycare, all accessed directly from the parking lot and directly onto the the base area. Also moved, and expanded, is the Snow Train conveyor lift. The Bear Cub Run trail has been pumped up, giving beginners and children a place to hone their chops. On the mountain, there's more snowmaking to get Gore open earlier -- and snowier.
