Holidays take on special appeal at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. Burn up calories skiing or riding the slopes before settling in to lavish dining in the festive atmosphere of the historic, newly renovated lodge.
Special seated dinners celebrate the holidays on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve in the Cascade Dining Room of the lodge. Each of the menus lines up a several course dinner that mixes traditional holiday dishes with gourmet twists.
Natural, organic, and locally produced foods weave through most of the menu offerings. The traditional holiday turkey dinner features alder smoked turkey sausage and sliced turkey breast with accompaniments of gravy, stuffing, and other sides. Other entrees include lamb, salmon and lobster, and elk, and at least one vegetarian entrée is on each menu.
Thanksgiving dinner seating times are available 1 to 7 p.m on Nov. 25. Seating times for Christmas Eve dinner are 3 to 6 p.m., Dec. 24. Christmas Day dinner runs 1 to 7 p.m., Dec. 25.
