Devil's Head Resort, Wisconsin's largest ski resort with slope-side lodging, may have the longest season pass sale in the Heartland. You have until Nov. 30 to purchase a 2010-11 discounted season pass.
An adult unlimited season pass, good anytime the area is open, is currently $399. A Junior (6-12) and senior (60-65) unlimited pass is currently $325. A Sunday Only Pass, which allows you to ski or ride every Sunday throughout the season, is $169, and that's for adult, juniors, and seniors. Children, five and under, can ski and ride for free.
Devil's Head added a new Doppelmayr quad chairlift, which will load right in front of the lodge on Cyclops. It will be a big help on busy weekends and holidays in getting skiers and snowboarders up the 500-foot ski hill, according to longtime General Manager Joe Vittengl.
"If we have bottlenecks during our busy times it's always getting people up the hill from the lodge area, which can get crowded on weekends and holidays. That was always one of our longest lift lines," he explained. "With this new quad chairlift that has some of the same features as a high-speed lift; it shouldn't be a problem this season. Our uphill capacity will definitely improve."
It replaces an older, slower double chairlift.
Devil's Head is a full-service resort with slopeside lodging, fine dining and one of the finest collections of blue runs in the Heartland. You won't find many bumps or any glades here, but the 28 runs are long, impeccably groomed, and boast a nice pitch and roll that's perfect for carving long turns. There are four terrain parks, ten chairlifts, and six surface tows.
