Saddleback Maine in the Pine Tree State's Rangeley region is launching the 2010 Collegiate Season Pass Challenge.
The competition for college and university athletic teams, clubs, groups, and other organizations runs until Dec. 15.
The point? See who can sell the most discounted Saddleback College Passes.
"We hope this competition is a fun way for student to raise money for their school group or athletic team, and will encourage them to get outside and enjoy all that Maine has to offer in the winter," Saddleback General Manager Chris Farmer said.
Here's how it works: Each team gets a promotional code which lets people buy a College Season Pass for the discounted price of $125. That's a savings of $24 on the regular College Season Pass price of $149. Saddleback will give $10 to each team for each College Season Pass purchased under the team's promotional code. The winning team from each college also gets to go to a special College Day at Saddleback Jan. 7. Members of winning teams each get two lift ticket vouchers that day to share with friends or faculty. The club selling the most passes also gets a trophy.
