Families can find deals at Big Sky Resort to trim the winter travel budget. Fourth night free programs and a children's ski and stay free program give families a way to make ski vacations affordable.

Big Sky offers a children's ski and stay free program. Kids 10 years old and younger can stay free in all of the resort's lodging properties and ski free on any day. Children must stay in the same unit as the parents, but with two queen hotel rooms, studios, and one- or two-bedroom condominiums available, you can squeeze in the kids or sprawl out in spacious luxury for a winter vacation.

Visitors to Big Sky can extend their stays at two lodging properties with fourth night free deals. Both lodging options sit slopeside to lifts.

The Summit Hotel, one of the resort's luxury lodges, has the fourth night free in hotel rooms, studios, or one- and two-bedroom condos. The deal is available all year long except for Jan. 14-21 and Feb. 18-20. The hotel includes a fitness center, an indoor and outdoor soaking pool, a restaurant, lounge, gift shop, espresso cart, underground parking, and on-mountain ski storage.

Those looking for moderately priced slopeside lodging can get a fourth night free at Huntley Lodge. The deal is available Dec. 9 through Jan. 14, including the holidays. The lodge features standard hotel and loft rooms as well as restaurants, shops, ski storage, spa, saunas, weight room, outdoor swimming pool, and two outdoor hot tubs.

Big Sky also offers ski and stay packages that bundle up lodging, lift tickets, and daily breakfast. Double occupancy rates for three nights and two days of lift tickets start at $315 per person for Huntley Lodge slopeside or Whitewater Inn, located on the highway 10-minutes from the ski area. A family of four can stay in a luxury Village Center two-bedroom condo for $1,894 for three nights and two days of skiing.

Big Sky Central Reservations can package in discount airfare. Flights come into Gallatin Field Airport in Bozeman, about 35 minutes north of Big Sky Resort.
