The Silvapark on the Alpkogel plateau above Galtür aims to bringsa new dimension to winter sports. Divided into separate themed parks, it provides fun, variety and a challenge for all ages and stages of skier. Sector One, the "dwarf world", is reserved for the tiniest skiers. Children here learn skiing in bright surroundings geared to their age group. The second sector is an "adventure land" with three trails leading through a fairytale world. Children become acquainted with nature on the hunting trail through the forest. Sector Three, the "action park" for youngsters with bumps, speed measuring, a natural half-pipe, curved box and straight box. Sector Four is the "heroes' kingdom", the area for free riders. Every morning mountain and skiing guides explain the correct conduct in the open skiing area and show how to use avalanche search equipment. Then it's on to the off-piste area. Sector Five is the "piste paradise" with 40 km of superbly prepared runs and a rest zone with deckchairs. Sector Six, "High & Nordic" is for the tourers, the snowshoe walkers and cross-country fans.
