Ski Snowstar, in Coal Creek Valley near the Quad Cities, has a little less than two weeks left to go on its season pass sale.  The last chance to purchase a discounted pass for the 2010-11 season is Nov. 6.

An adult VIP Pass is currently $270, and will go up to $300 on the above date.  It allows you to head direct to the slopes without having to pick up a lift ticket.  If two people get together and purchase a Two Pack VIP Pass, which allows both skiing and riding all season, the cost is $475, or $237.50 per person.  If three people purchase a Three Pack the cost is $655, or $218.33 per person.

The Gold Season Pass allows you to ski or ride anytime the area is open with the caveat that you have to stop at the lift ticket window first.  A single person pass is $225 through Nov. 6. The Two and Three Pack Gold Pass is respectively $405 and $565.

An Evening Season Pass is currently $160, and a seasonal equipment rental, ski or snowboard, is $120.

Ski Snowstar expanded their rental building over the summer, which will contain expanded restrooms and a new state-of-the-art tuning shop.  On the slopes they are partially covering the tube hill lift and adding new features to the Dark Side Terrain Park including a new stair-step box rail.

Snowstar opened in 1981 with one lift and three trails. Since that time nearly three-quarter-million skiers and riders have visited the area. Today it offers two quad and one double chairlift, three surface tows, 15 named runs, terrain parks, and five tubing lanes.
