No time more time to dilly-dally. Tahoe area skiers and snowboarders have only a few more days to get season passes at reduced prices on sale. Several Tahoe resorts have already ended their season pass sales and moved on to regular prices. Only a handful of Tahoe resorts still have sales running into November.
Those sitting around waiting for the last minute to buy season passes need to do so by Oct. 31 for four Tahoe resorts. Boreal Mountain Resort, Alpine Meadows, Homewood Mountain Resort, and Sugar Bowl Resort wrap up their fall season pass sales at the end of October. After that, rates go up.
Kirkwood Mountain Resort fans have a few days longer to buy season passes. The resort's new "No Blackout" passes are on sale until Nov. 2. The passes do not have blackout dates, as they have in the past, and allow passholders to ski or ride any day, including holidays and peak attendance days. The resort cited the scope of their terrain, recent lift upgrades, and lack of lift lines as the reason for the change. Kirkwood doubled their preseason pass sales with the new No Blackout passes.
College students can still get the $299 sale rate on joint season passes for Alpine Meadows and Homewood until Dec. 20. The pass is valid any day at both resorts except for Dec. 26-Jan. 2, Jan. 15-16, and Feb. 19-20. Students must show proof of enrollment with nine credits or more.
Heavenly Mountain Resort runs their fall season pass sale in to December. Current passholders who refer new season pass buyers can get $20 in mountain money for each referral pass, and new passholders from referrals can buy their passes with an extra discount.
