You'll find great deals, plenty of gear, season passes, and celebrities at the 19th Annual Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo. The event is headed for the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver, Nov. 5-7.
Colorado's 26 resorts find ways to make it fun with giveaways, deals on passes, and plenty of prizes. Prices are slashed on last season's equipment.
The Flying Aces, presented by Keystone Resort, will be on hand for their high-flying trampoline show. Crazy contests in the center of the show include cup stacking, sumo wrestling in oversized suits, and frozen T-shirt contests. The MBS Mountainboard Big Air Show features mountainboarders high in the air, flipping, spinning, and hitting rails. Sometimes ski celebrities make appearances.
Another big attraction is the Gibbon Slackline exhibit. Slacklines are all the rage at ski areas lately. The freeride kids especially love them for training, balancing, and flipping.
Bring your old gear to the Expo and you can drop it off for free recycling. Local charities will take it if it is still usable.
It's $12 for adults to get in. But you can get $2 off your ticket by riding the RTD light rail. Or look for a coupon in the Denver Post, at any Colorado Ski & Golf store. Kids 12 and under are free. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
One more thing. Bring a small bag because many exhibitors give away goodies and you'll have quite a collection of fun things to bring home.
