SugiPOP!: Anime, Manga, Comics and Their Influence on Contemporary Art is a show highlighting the work of 30 artists, including eight regional artists, who have put their creations on snowboards donated by Forum.

The finished pieces will hang in the SugiPOP! show at the Portsmouth Museum of Art Oct. 13 to Jan. 16. The pieces also will be featured in a pop-up gallery on display at Waterville Valley in January. The art also will be reproduced as topsheet designs for sale at Dekal's online store, and customized to fit snowboards, skis, and laptops, with a portion of the proceeds from those sales going to support the Portsmouth Museum of Art.

"This is about connecting the dots between snowboarding and art and video and helping some of the artists by showcasing their talent," said Waterville's Deb Moore. "The show puts contemporary art on snowboards, appealing to a younger demographic through modern art."

Waterville Valley, Forum Snowboards, and Dekal join the Portsmouth Museum of Art and the artists for a special event Oct. 23.

The event involves an all-day party at the Museum of Art, including an auction of the snowboards to raise money for the museum, and a premier of a new video by Forum Snowboards.
