Hitting the slopes at Red River Ski Area will be a bit less expensive this season with season tickets now available for weekday- or weekend-only skiers and snowboarders.
We found that a lot of our local skiers could only go on weekends or during the week, so we thought we’d try this out and see how it works,” said Wesley Hayden, of skier services at the northern New Mexico resort.
Red River further divides up its pass options between unlimited passes and limited passes that exclude holders during Christmas (Dec. 25-31) and spring break (March 12-19) periods.
Skiers and riders can save an additional $50 by purchasing any of these season passes before Nov. 5. The preseason sale has an unlimited adult pass for $450, while teenagers pay $400 and children $350. Both weekend and weekday adult ticket go for $250, with teenagers costing $225, and children $200. The limited ticket goes for $325 adults, $275 for teens, and $250 for children.
This winter marks the second season for a new management team. Founder and general manager Drew Judycki died this year after 30 years as ski school director, marketing director, general manager and, finally, owner. His brother Denny has now taken over as the head man at the family-owned resort.
