Horseshoe Resort, an hour north of Toronto near Barrie, has about two weeks left on its early season pass sale. Most passes will be going up by at least $100 Oct. 24.
Adult unlimited passes - good day and night - are now CA $579 (US $567.8), and the junior (6-16) and senior (60+) versions are CA $479 (US $469.79). Both of these passes will be going up by $120 per pass Oct. 24. Day only unlimited passes are CA $519 (US $509.02) and CA $419 (US $410.95) respectively. They both go up by $130.
A 7 Night/5 Day Pass, all ages, is currently CA $169 (US $165.75). It allows you to ski/ride midweek during the day and every night of the season. A midweek pass, all ages, is CA $129 (US $126.53). Both of these passes also will also be going up Oct. 24. Kids five and under ski/ride free all the time.
Season pass holders get the following perks: Mondays bring up to three friends for CA $19.99 (US $19.60) each; Tuesdays half-off room nights at the Inn; Wednesdays free tubing from 4 to 8 p.m.; Thursdays half price Kids Korral; Fridays exclusive late access to the hills; Saturday and Sunday exclusive early access to the hills.
The resort offers 22 runs, six lifts, a new terrain park that doubled in size last winter and a competition superpipe with 17-foot walls, the Thunder Valley Tubing Park with a magic carpet lift, and 35 kilometers of groomed cross-country holes. It typically has one of the longest snow sports seasons in southern Ontario, and is open daily and nightly all season long.
