October is the month to get season passes at several Washington ski resorts. Season pass sales are running at 49 Degrees North Mountain Resort, Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort, Mt. Baker Ski Area, and White Pass Ski Resort.

Those looking to grab season passes at 49 Degrees North need to do so before Oct.15. Season passes run $25-319 on sale. Purchases can pay for one half before the sale deadline and then the second half by Nov. 1.

Mission Ridge season passes cost $102-499 through Oct. 31. Passholders get five free days of skiing at White Pass, but sixth graders can get the best deal. The resort added a new sixth grader pass for $20. It is good all season long with no blackout dates and available to anyone from any state or country all season long. "We wanted to capitalize on the momentum of fifth graders ski free programs elsewhere in the state," spokesperson Jerri Barkley told us. "We're trying to keep them skiing."

Mt. Baker season passes, which run $200-690, are on sale until Oct. 31. Families can get discounts if they purchase their passes in person at the resort's business office or at the ski hill. The family deal requires one adult pass to be purchased at the full rate, which then grants each additional pass for a spouse and children to be discounted by 10 percent.

White Pass season passes cost $269-499 on sale for 33 percent off until Oct. 31. Passholders get free access to the Nordic trails and the new terrain with two new lifts at White Pass plus five days at Mission Ridge.
