Boston Mills/Brandywine will be hosting its Open House Oct. 15-17 at Boston Mills, and it offers the best early bird pricing for 2010-11 season ski passes, all lessons and specialty programs. The Buckeye Sports Center hosts one of the larger gear sales in the Midwest, and it's a chance to get a look at the latest equipment.
You can purchase season passes and Pick-A-Day Passes below regular season prices at the open house. An adult pass is $339 and Junior/Youth (7-12) pass is $289. Both go up after the open house to $439 and $389 respectively. Pick-A-Day pass will be $239 at the open house and go up to $289 the day after.
Open House hours are 12 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
There will be information on Women's Snow Discovery, race programs, Freestyle Bootcamp, and all of the ski area's youth lesson programs. The Women's Discovery Program is $299 at the open house, which includes lessons, lift and equipment rental. The cost is $329 after the open house.
The third annual Open House Rail Jam is Saturday at 2 p.m. The event is suitable for all ages with features for every freestyle talent level. It's a pre-season chance to hit the slopes. Come out, throw down and enjoy. The event is held on ice shavings. At least it's not plastic.
The Ski Patrol Swap Tent will have new-to-you used equipment on sale, and, if you're looking for new gear, you may want to sell your old equipment.
The area will also be hosting chairlift rides over the weekend so that you can enjoy the colorful Ohio fall landscape from the top of the ski hill. However, you can only ride up. You have to walk down. Get those ski legs in shape.
