Head to resorts before the holidays, and you'll often get benefits. Lodging packages run less, and fewer people crowd into lift lines. Deer Valley Resort is offering several discount packages aimed at people who want to ski when there are fewer crowds on the slopes.
The resort's Maximum Value Package gives the "best deal during our slow time," according to Scott Hendrick, reservations manager at the resort. The package includes four nights of lodging and four days of skiing, but you only pay for three nights lodging and three days of lift tickets. The package is available before the holidays and at the end of the season, Dec. 4-17 and March 17 - April 10.
The Exceptional Value Package offers a 25 percent savings on lodging and lifts. Lodging choices with the package span a wide range of accommodations. This package is available Dec. 4-17, Jan. 3-13, Jan. 19 - Feb.9, and March 27 - April 10. The resort is also offering the package Feb. 27 - March 5, but with a 15 percent discount.
Deer Valley is also running the Pre-Holiday Special, which offers a 25 percent discount at select resort-managed properties. The special is available for stays Dec. 8 - 25.
"These are our less crowded times when the kids are still in school," Hendrick said. That's why the resort drops the rates during the dates.
The three packages have some restrictions regarding payment, cancellations, and services. Clarify restrictions with reservations agents when booking.
