Liberty Mountain Increases Automated Snowmaking; Acquires Nearby Resort

Liberty Mountain in Carroll Valley, Pa., has added new automated snow guns to its arsenal, covering 65 percent of its terrain with computerized snowmaking.

The automated guns are more efficient, can operate in marginal temperatures, and use less energy, making Liberty whiter and greener at the same time.

Liberty acquired neighboring Carroll Valley Resort, doubling its physical size, bringing its hotel room total to 99, and increasing dining and recreation offerings to guests.

Among the new amenties are Tavern on the Green, Clubhouse Inn, meeting space, and an 18-hole championship golf course.

Liberty also replaced all rentals skis, boards, and boots with new equipment from Rossignol, Dalbello, and Burton. The resort also added a large selection of helmets to the rental operation in acknowledgement of their growing popularity.

The resort redesigned and expanded its rental shop to improve flow.

Liberty's retail shop, The Igloo, also expanded.

Skiers and riders who buy Advantage Cards and Season Passes online will be able to upload photos through a program designed to make the process easier.

Liberty Mountain Resort has 16 trails and a snow tubing park on 91 skiable acres, 620-foot vertical, served by eight lifts that include five quads, two carpets and a t-bar and one double chairlifts, two Magic Moving Carpet lifts and a terrain park J-bar, night skiing seven nights a week, and full snowmaking coverage.
