Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands, located about a half-hour apart near Petoskey, Mich., is offering its lowest pre-season lift and lodging package for this winter. It's available only through Oct. 11.
The package from $83 per person, per night based on double occupancy is Boyne's lowest price of the year and only a limited number are available.
Lift tickets are interchangeable at the two locations and, between resorts, they offer 114 trails and slopes and eight terrain parks.
Boyne has been busy over the summer making improvements to their terrain parks, adding more glades skiing and putting more zip into their Zipline Adventures.
Six new terrain park features are being added at both the Mountain and Highlands. The newly designed features include new rails and jibs for all park riders: beginner, intermediate, and expert. They offer four terrain parks and a skier/boarder cross course at each location, and the Mountain also boosts a mini-pipe and a Superpipe with 18-foot walls.
The Highlands cleared additional acreage on the northwest side of North Peak Pass and Tournament Pass for added glade skiing. They also cleared more glade skiing area near the top of Amy's Run.
More lines have been added at both resorts' Ziplines Adventures including the new Twin Zip, which pits zipline riders against each other in a single ride on side-by-side lines.
The ride at the Highlands, which at 1,350 feet is a little over a quarter-mile, begins on Olympic slope and drops you near Heather Highlands Inn. The Mountain's Twin Zip is 780 feet long and crosses a pond with fountains landing you on a platform near the Mountain Grand Lodge.
The Twin Zip experience is $15 per person for two rides. The Zipline Adventure, which is all stations including the Twin Zips, at both resorts is $59 per person and takes a couple of hours to complete. Ski clothes and boots are just fine to wear. They will meet you at your last station with your gear.
