Méribel is offering several ski deals especially for families this winter.
Families can take up to 15 percent off a Christmas stay at Méribel that includes accommodation and ski passes. For a week of skiing, the seventh day is free and on Christmas day, children ski for free. This means that for a seven-day stay, the parents pay for six days and children pay for five. This offer is valid Dec. 18-26. Prices vary according to the type of accommodation chosen.
Méribel also gives children a free day of skiing Feb. 12-19 with the purchase of a Pass Famille Vallée as part of an all-inclusive stay. Again, prices depend on the type of accommodation selected.
Parents can also take their children on a discovery of mountain plants and animals with the Moon Wild piste. This trail is specially designed for children and parents, where they can try to recognize the animal tracks in the snow as they make their way down the piste. Realistic statues of deer, rabbits, and other mountain animals hide in the forest, where children delight in spying the creatures. Informative panels also explain the surrounding fauna so children can try their best to identify the different species.
These and other stays can be booked through Méribel's reservations Web site.
