Kronplatz has installed a new cable car, the Gipfelbahn, to replace three of its lifts.
The state-of-the-art Gipfelbahn takes passengers all the way to the top of Mount Kronplatz (2275m). It is complete with heated leather benches for up to 10 passengers per gondola. The overall transport capacity has increased to 3000 passengers per hour.
Further improvements include the refurbishment of the Olang/Gassl cable car valley station to accommodate a new ski pass office and a new restaurant/pizzeria, bar and apres-ski pub. Also, after substantial extension works and the installation of new snowmaking systems, the Seewiese slope is due to reopen this winter.
Kronplatz kicks off the winter season Nov. 27. The price of a pre-season ski pass (Nov. 27 to Dec. 23) can be bought at the reduced rate of €34 as opposed to €42 at high season.
Kronplatz reaches a height of 2,275 metres and is one of the major ski areas in South Tyrol. The Kronplatz skiing region offers more than 1,000 kilometres of slopes, 1,177 kilometres of cross-country runs, 31 modern lifts, and a wide choice of après ski with plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants and clubs. Activities for non-skiers include ice skating, toboganning, and winter hiking.
