Mt. Baldy Resort launched its season pass sale late summer with a new product. The full season pass 4-Pack offers a way for skiers and riders to purchase a pass for $250. You just have to hook up with a few friends.
"It's always the locals who want special deals on season passes, but we decided to make it available to everyone," Pete Olson, vice president of Mt. Baldy Resort, told OnTheSnow.
The new 4-Pack pass, which can only be purchased online, requires that four skiers or riders buy their passes together in one transaction for $1,000 on one person's credit card. Splitting the total out makes each pass cost $100 less than a pass bought individually during the sale.
The 4-Pack passes, which are non-transferable, have no blackout days and permit unlimited skiing and snowboarding for the duration of the season. Passholders do not need to make reservations to ski or ride.
Mt. Baldy tends to extend or cut off sales as necessary. Olson said that the 4-Packs would be available at least through Sept. 30. "Prices may go up after that," he said. Individual passes are also on sale through September.
A boon of snow and the added snowmaking capacity of a new reservoir aided the resort last winter. "We had a very good year," summed up Olson. Mt. Baldy is beefing up their snow coverage this winter with more snowmaking lines and guns.
