Colorado resorts packed the top ten list in SKI Magazine's Top 5 Resort Guide. Vail is still in a very respectable second place, although looking to top Deer Valley next season. Vail has had a lot of construction this year, which may have affected the rankings. Some of the improvements include replacement of the Highline Lift (Chair 10) and Sourdough Lift (Chair 14) with new high-speed POMA quad chairlifts. A faster triple chair will replace the Little Eagle Lift (Chair 15) in the dedicated beginner area at Eagle's Nest at the top of the gondola in LionsHead. Also, the Golden Peak Children's Center and Small World Play School Nursery are being completely remodeled. Aspen has moved up three spots to be in fourth place overall. Sister Resort Snowmass is in fifth. Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, and Steamboat are seventh, eighth and ninth. This is the longest-running ski resort survey in the winter sports industry. Resorts are given rankings in 18 categories, from Overall Satisfaction and Access to Apres Skiing and Dining. SKI Magazine readers also hit the slops an average of 23 days a year.
