The Le Grand Massif ski area in the French Alps is offering discounts on season passes purchased before Dec. 15. Skiers who buy passes in advance will pay €419 instead of the regular €838 for an adult season pass.

Le Grand Massif includes the resorts of Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns, and Sixt. The five resorts make for a total of 265 kilometres of downhill pistes. It is France's fifth largest ski area.

A season pass for Le Massif is also on sale for €349 instead of €540. Le Massif includes all of the resorts in Le Grand Massif, except Flaine and offers skiers a total of 145 kilometres of pistes.

Le Grand Massif includes a variety of sites for all types of skiers. La Combe de Gers offers 800 metres of vertical drop on a vertiginous slope. The Cascades piste gives intermediate skiers 14 kilometres of blue run from Flaine to Sixt. Beginners can take advantage of the Marvel piste. It's five kilometres that run through a 100-year-old forest.

Le Grand Massif also hosts three jam parks for freestyle riders who want to work on their tricks all season long.

The slopes of Le Grand Massif officially open the weekend of Dec. 18-19, with partial openings Dec. 11-12.
