Cross-country skiers who regularly ski in France have the choice between several annual passes that give access to various parts of France. The regional Nordic Pass Rhone-Alpes lets cross country fans ski in France's richest cross country region.
The Nordic Pass Rhone-Alpes is valid in the seven of the eight departments that make up the Rhone-Alpes region: Ain, Ardèche, Drôme, Isère, Loire, Savoie, and Haute Savoie. This makes for a total of 83 cross country sites and more than 5000 kilometres of pistes.
An adult pass for the 2010-2011 season costs €112, while a child's pass (ages 6-16) costs €30. Nordic Pass holders can also benefit from discounts on registration fees for many of the region's cross country ski events like the Foulée Blanche at Autrans, the Traversée du Vercors at the Col du Rousset, and the International Marathon at Bessans.
The Nordic Pass Rhone Alpes also allows card holders to ski all of the sites outside of the Rhone-Alpes region for half price. This includes the cross country sites in the Vosges, Jura, Hautes Alpes, Massif Central, and Pyrenees mountains.
The Nordic Pass Rhone Alpes can be purchased at any of the region's cross country skiing sites.
