Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails returns once again to Bear Mountain Sept. 18. The event jump-starts the season for Southern California skiers and riders with a free pro rail show and a one-day season pass sale.

Admission to the event is free. Season passes for Bear Mountain and Snow Summit will be on sale with prices rolled back to spring rates for the one day of the event.

The dual mountain adult midweek pass is on sale for $50 off while the dual mountain adult anytime pass is $100 off. Dual mountain passes are discounted for all ages as well as the Snow Summit night pass and Bear Mountain only passes.

Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails brings on pros to compete for $15,000 in prizes. The resort blows more than 110 tons of snow for the event, which runs 2 p.m. to dark. Music, a full bar, giveaways, games, and a vendor booth city add to the festivities surrounding the pro invitational rail jam.

The event culminates after sundown when two movies will be shown. Bear Mountain premiers its seventh park video called Paint It Red, and The People's "Cheers" will fill the screen with big names in snowboarding.

Season passes during the one-day sale must be purchased in person, but before and after the sale, they can be purchased by phone or online. Rates outside the one-day sale are in effect through Dec. 5. Season passholders receive discounts on food and non-alcoholic beverages, ski or snowboard lessons, and at resort sport shops.
