September bodes to be a busy month at Mt. Rose. The resort's pass sale is going on with a new weekday pass available, and crews will break ground on a snowmaking extension in Slide Bowl. Other new features await skiers and riders, too.

Crews at Mt. Rose will begin digging snowmaking lines on the lower section of Silver Dollar in September with the goal of blowing snow when conditions permit. The extension will give Slide Bowl early season access with top to bottom coverage and allow skiers and riders to reach Winters Creek Lodge in early season.

Skiers and riders who line up at gates around the Chutes will have one more option this winter to grab fresh powder shots. The black diamond run Miller Time has always been accessed via the double black diamond Nightmare gate, but this winter Miller Time will have its own gate at the ridge.

Visitors with iPhones will be able to access Mt. Rose information this winter. A new Mt. Rose application will feature webcams, pictures of the day, and snow reports.

The resort introduced a new season pass this summer. The Raw Pass, which costs $199 for all ages, accesses lifts for unlimited skiing and riding except for blackout dates. This winter's void dates are Dec. 18 - Jan. 2 and Saturdays and Sundays Jan. 8 - Mar. 20.

Unlimited Passes, which grant lift access without blackout dates and include discount perks, are on sale at $377 for adults, $255 for seniors and teens, and $133 for kids. Both passes are on sale through Sept. 30.
